Kentwell HallKentwell Hall is a mellow redbrick Tudor Mansion surrounded by a broad
moat with extensive Gardens set amidst open parkland. Over thirty years of renovations have brought the house and gardens back to life.
Kentwell remains very much a lived-in and loved family home.
From its approach by a three quarter mile long ancient Lime Avenue, with trees meeting cathedral-like overhead, to its mellow soft red brickwork and broad moats everything at Kentwell combines to produce an air of timeless tranquillity. Most visitors instantly feel comfortable and at home. Just walking around and drinking in the sights, sounds and smells is a rewarding experience. Over 150 years ago it was written that 'visitors emerging from the Avenue on a summery evening cannot withold admiration when they see the manifold beauties of Kentwell Hall'. This remains true today, at almost any time of year, in almost any weather conditions; from hot sun playing over bleached bricks and creating dancing reflections in the moats to wet and heavy air bringing out the bricks’ deepest hues with raindrops drumming on the water.

Michaelmas Re-Creation of Tudor Life
Sat 23rd - Sun 24th September 2006
The last Tudor Re-Creation of the year. Michaelmas is a very popular weekend re-creation of tudor history and is designed to portray aspects of 16th Century life in as authentic way as possible.
Visitors will see, hear and smell the sights, sounds and smells of Tudor England in one of England's finest Tudor locations. Visitors of all ages will enjoy meeting Kentwell’s Tudors who range in social class; from the skilled to mere labourers; from the learned to the ignorant. Nowhere else presents such a range, such contrasts or such variety.
Stimulating, informative and fun for all the family. Our Tudor folk will be happy to engage in talk about the period and politics of the day. The music, dance, food, activites and crafts are all those of the period and are carried out as faithfully as possible.
