From the Wharf you can embark on either a horse drawn boat trip along the feeder for the main canal, or a motorised aqueduct cruise which takes you across the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct built by Thomas Telford. Both these trips take in the magical sights and sounds of the beautiful Llangollen Canal. Longer horse drawn trips can be arranged for large groups. We also have a self steer day hire boat for groups of up to 10 people, on our purpose built 32' narrowboat the "Dydd Un". This is an ideal way to take a leisurely cruise along the Llangollen Canal and across the unforgettable Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. This is a perfect way for a family, group of friends or a corporate team to have their own private boat for the day. For those waiting for a horse drawn boat, home made fare is available in our café with spectacular views from the patio, which overlooks both Llangollen and the River Dee. Painted canal ware and souvenirs are available in our gift shop. Opening Times The horse drawn boats operate daily from 11:00 am from Easter to October when Llangollen Wharf is open.
