Drumlanrig Castle, Gardens & Country ParkDrumlanrig Castle, the Dumfriesshire home of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry KBE, houses an internationally-renowned art collection, along with superb examples of French furniture including a cabinet from Versailles, silver, porcelain and tapestries. There is a licensed Tearoom in the Castle Kitchen where you can enjoy a wide range of homemade food (with of course the driver eating free). Whilst here why not visit the Castle Shop or wander around the Craft Workshops in the Stableyard, and see the Blacksmith at work in his Forge. The extensive Gardens are currently being restored to their original 19th century design and are the home to the first Douglas Fir to be planted in the UK. The Garden Centre allows to you purchase many of the plants that you view. Walk, ramble, cycle or mountain-bike on our trails and routes. Hunt for red squirrels which can be seen throughout the woodland or view them in our Visitors Centre on our live Wildlife TVs. Our Landrover Tours take you out into the wider Estate, enabling you to enjoy our beautiful countryside and enjoy the fantastic scenery that surrounds us. |
