Set among carefully maintained Elizabethan gardens and parkland; your experience beings with your first sight of the castle as it breaks into view. Visit the gift shop, visitors centre, tea room, nature trail and childrens woodland play area. The castle is not open to the public, however guided tours are conducted at an extra charge and subject to availability, but due to the operation of a busy university we strongly advise you to phone for confirmation of times before you visit. Opening Times Open daily 12th April - 2nd November, 10am to 6pm, last admission 5pm. Closes at 5pm during October. Closed 4th & 5th August. Admission Adults £5.50, Children under 15 £3.00, Children under 5 Free, concessions £4.50.
